Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has issued a public warning about an impersonation scheme involving his identity on social media.
In a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the actor revealed that an individual allegedly based in the United Kingdom has been posing as him online. He included a screenshot of a conversation with the suspected impersonator to support his claim.
Johnson stressed that he has no connection to the individual and does not authorise any communication coming from them. He also clarified that the phone number linked to the exchange does not belong to him.
The actor further noted that he currently does not operate through a personal manager or assistant for business dealings, urging the public to be cautious of anyone claiming to represent him.
He advised fans and potential business partners to ignore any messages, offers or proposals sent by the impersonator, warning that such activities could damage his reputation.
Calling for collective action, Johnson encouraged the public to report the suspicious number and remain vigilant against online scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.
