Veteran gospel artiste Goke Bajowa has issued a legal warning to fellow musician Boye Best over the alleged unauthorised use of his song, Iwo Ko Lodami.
In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Bajowa accused Boye Best of repeatedly performing the track at live events and across platforms without proper acknowledgment of its original ownership.
The singer described the situation as misleading, stating that presenting the song without credit could give the impression of ownership or exclusive rights.
According to him, prior efforts to address the matter privately did not yield results. He noted that despite earlier communication, the performances continued without due recognition.
“This is a final warning,” Bajowa said, insisting that while he has not restricted the performance of the song, proper attribution must be given going forward.
He added that failure to comply would leave him with no option but to pursue legal steps to protect his intellectual property and uphold the integrity of his work.
The dispute highlights ongoing concerns within the music industry around copyright protection and the importance of crediting original creators, particularly in live performances and digital use.
