A new partnership between TikTok and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is aiming to boost small business growth through digital training in Nigeria.
The two organisations have launched the Digital Commerce Labs, a global initiative designed to equip entrepreneurs with digital skills, tools, and strategies to expand their businesses and access wider markets.
The programme was announced in a statement signed by TikTok’s Acting Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for Sub-Saharan Africa, Tokunbo Ibrahim, and ICC Secretary General, John Denton.
It is being implemented in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.
According to the organisers, the initiative will combine TikTok’s digital commerce tools with ICC’s global trade expertise to deliver training, mentorship, and scalable learning opportunities for small businesses.
Training will be delivered through community engagement sessions, online learning modules, and virtual classrooms where participants can interact with industry experts.
The programme is also expected to improve digital literacy, encourage peer learning, and support the growth of sustainable digital business ecosystems in Nigeria and other participating countries.
ICC Secretary General, John Denton, said the initiative would help create a more inclusive global economy by giving small businesses access to practical tools needed to compete in the digital space.
Tokunbo Ibrahim added that the collaboration would enable entrepreneurs to move beyond visibility and achieve sustainable business growth through effective use of digital platforms.
The Digital Commerce Labs will be rolled out across 10 countries, including Nigeria, with plans for further expansion across Africa and other regions.
