Singer J Martins has reacted to the ongoing tension between P-Square twins Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, following reports that the brothers now celebrate their birthdays on different dates.
In a social media post on Tuesday, J Martins said he has maintained close relationships with both artists for more than two decades and expressed confusion over the decision to alter a shared birthday tradition.
He questioned why one twin would choose to change a long-established birthday date that both brothers had observed for years.
The singer directly addressed Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, and Paul Okoye, also called Rudeboy, urging them to resolve their differences privately rather than airing disputes publicly.
According to him, the ongoing conflict brings unnecessary embarrassment to the Igbo community and should be handled within the family.
“These are my brothers for more than two decades… can we fix this stuff inside our house and not bring this shame on Ndi Igbo?” he wrote.
Peter and Paul Okoye, born on November 18, 1981, rose to fame as the iconic duo P-Square, becoming one of Africa’s most successful music acts before splitting in 2017 over management and financial disagreements.
The pair reunited in 2021, but reports of renewed tension resurfaced in 2024, reigniting public interest in their relationship.
J Martins, who has previously collaborated with P-Square, has maintained personal ties with both brothers over the years and remains one of several industry figures calling for reconciliation.
