The ACT Naija Project has stepped up efforts to improve access to social protection programmes with a community outreach initiative aimed at sensitising residents on available government support schemes.
The programme, themed “Enhancing Community Access to Social Protection Programmes,” brought together community members, stakeholders and development partners to promote awareness and encourage proper registration for social welfare interventions.

Speaking at the event, the State Programme Officer, Peter Geoffrey, urged eligible residents to take advantage of the initiative, stressing the importance of accurate data during enrolment.
He noted that the programme is specifically designed to support vulnerable households and called on community members to register and benefit from the intervention.
Also speaking, the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of ACT Naija/ANEEJ, Tessy Talatu Ochu, disclosed that the intervention is being implemented across seven states in Nigeria.
According to her, the project aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Cash Transfer programme introduced by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, under which beneficiaries receive ₦25,000 monthly for three months.
She explained that the initiative is part of broader efforts to cushion the impact of economic hardship on vulnerable citizens.
In her remarks, the Head of Operations in Borno State, Fatima Zanna, highlighted the procedures for registration, emphasizing transparency, accountability and inclusiveness.
She assured that clear guidelines have been established to ensure that only qualified beneficiaries are captured, while urging participants to adhere strictly to the registration process.
Some participants at the outreach expressed optimism that the programme would improve their living conditions if effectively implemented.

The ACT Naija Project said the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen social protection delivery and enhance the welfare of vulnerable populations across participating states.
