Content creator Emmanuel Obruste has addressed allegations made by his younger sister, who accused him of neglecting family members despite his financial success.
The controversy gained attention after she claimed she was denied entry to his housewarming ceremony, sparking criticism of the influencer across social media platforms.
In a video shared on Instagram, GehGeh responded to the backlash, stating that while he supports his family, he does not have the financial capacity to lift all relatives out of poverty at once.
He maintained that he has offered assistance in the past, including purchasing the phone his sister currently uses. However, he stressed that he can only do what is within his means.
The influencer also noted that he is the first in his family to achieve financial stability and currently has responsibilities of his own, including caring for three children.
GehGeh explained that his approach to money is deliberate, prioritising long-term financial planning over emotional decisions. According to him, this discipline has been key to his success.
Referencing Asake, he pointed out that the singer only recently made major purchases for his parents despite years of success, using the example to highlight the importance of timing and financial strategy.
He added that he only began earning income from social media about two years ago and questioned expectations that he should immediately transform his family’s financial situation.
GehGeh also revealed that he is the first in his family to build a duplex and own cars, describing his achievements as a significant step forward given his background.
He advised his siblings to seek employment and avoid depending entirely on him for financial support, emphasising that he intends to give his best without compromising his own stability.
The situation has fueled ongoing conversations online about financial responsibility, family expectations, and the pressures faced by public figures navigating sudden wealth.
