Streaming platform KAVA TV has reported a temporary slowdown in service after a record-breaking surge in traffic following the release of the Nollywood movie Behind The Scenes.
In a statement, the platform explained that unprecedented viewership was putting pressure on its servers but assured users that the technical team is actively working to restore normal operations.
“We’re currently experiencing a record-breaking surge in traffic following the release of Behind The Scenes, and it’s putting temporary pressure on our servers,” the statement read. “Our technical team is fully on it, working around the clock to scale capacity and restore a smooth, high-quality experience across the platform.”
The streaming service also thanked viewers for their patience, adding, “To the thousands of you who tried to enter KAVA at the same second, your love is massive! We’ve cleared the road, and the app is back up.”
Behind The Scenes, featuring Scarlet Gomez, Funke Akindele, and Iyabo Ojo, has already achieved impressive commercial success. The film grossed N2.7 billion at the Nigerian box office and £159,000 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The movie currently ranks number one on Netflix for African audiences in Nigeria and leads viewership on KAVA TV for international audiences, underscoring its popularity both locally and globally.
