As security challenges continue across parts of the country, Bola Tinubu has disclosed that Nigeria is receiving support from foreign partners to strengthen its response.
The president made this known in his 2026 Easter message released on Good Friday, where he acknowledged that threats persist despite sustained military operations.
According to him, his administration is combining local efforts with international collaboration to improve the effectiveness of ongoing security operations.
“We are making resources available and forging partnerships to deal decisive blows to the agents of terror and banditry. We have also sought and are receiving assistance from outside our shores”, Tinubu said.
While he did not name the countries involved or specify the nature of the support, the president expressed confidence that the strategy is beginning to yield results.
He noted that despite ongoing challenges, assurances from security chiefs indicate gradual progress in stabilising affected areas.
The comments come amid renewed attacks in parts of the country, including recent killings in Plateau State, raising fresh concerns over national security.
President Tinubu, however, commended the armed forces for their resilience and continued sacrifices in defending the nation.
He also urged Nigerians to support security agencies and promote unity in the face of adversity.
“No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace”, he said.
On the economy, the president defended ongoing reforms, describing them as necessary steps toward long-term stability despite current hardships.
Looking ahead to the next electoral cycle, Tinubu called on political actors to act responsibly and adhere strictly to the Electoral Act to safeguard democratic processes.
