President Bola Tinubu has used his Easter message to reaffirm his administration’s resolve to confront Nigeria’s security challenges and steer the economy toward stability.
Addressing Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, Tinubu described Easter as a powerful reminder of sacrifice, hope, and victory over adversity, values he said resonate strongly with the nation’s current journey.
“I rejoice with Nigerians as we celebrate Easter… a reminder of sacrifice, redemption, and the triumph of light over darkness”, he said.
He noted that while the country continues to grapple with economic pressures and security concerns, his government remains focused and determined to deliver lasting solutions.
“This season speaks to our present situation as we confront economic strain and security challenges with determination and resolve”.
President Tinubu praised the efforts of the armed forces, acknowledging their continued sacrifices in safeguarding the nation.
“Our gallant men and women continue to make sacrifices, leaving their families to defend the nation”. he stated.
He, however, admitted that challenges persist, assuring citizens that intensified strategies and stronger collaborations are being deployed to tackle insecurity.
The president also called on Nigerians to play an active role in nation-building by supporting lawful efforts and promoting unity.
“Challenges remain, but we are making resources available and forging partnerships to deal decisive blows to terrorists and bandits.
“No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace”.
On the economy, Tinubu said ongoing reforms are necessary steps toward long-term growth and shared prosperity.
“These reforms are demanding but carefully designed to deliver shared prosperity for all Nigerians.”
As the country gradually approaches another electoral cycle, the president urged political actors to uphold democratic principles.
“The Electoral Act must guide our conduct… ensuring peace, stability, and credible democratic processes”.
Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s direction, he said early signs point to progress despite prevailing challenges, while appreciating citizens for their resilience.
