The Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, has voiced his optimism regarding the final stages of the current season, stating his expectation that the concluding fixtures across various conferences will yield deserving victors. As the campaign reaches its climax, the competitive landscape is becoming clearer, with Doma United currently standing as the sole organization to have mathematically confirmed its ascent to the top-flight Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The administrative focus now shifts to Conferences A, B, and D, all of which are scheduled to reach their definitive resolutions within the forthcoming fortnight. This follows the successful wrap-up of Conference C, a milestone that the league’s leadership has cited as a positive indicator of the tournament’s overall integrity and organizational progress. While the battle for promotion remains the primary narrative for many, the season has already delivered harsh realities for others; notably, both Mighty Jets and City FC have seen their tenures in the second tier end, resulting in their relegation to the Nationwide League.
In a recent communication with the internal press department of the NNL, Aluo reflected on the smooth transition of the completed brackets and expressed his desire for a similarly seamless transition for the remaining regional groups.
“It’s a thing of joy that we witnessed the successful conclusion of Conference C with interesting results,” Aluo told the NNL media.
“I’m looking forward to the successful conclusion of other conferences in the next two weeks.”
