Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has announced her decision to step back from efforts to reconcile colleagues Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, following renewed tensions between the two stars.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Ojo addressed criticism from the public while reflecting on her previous attempts to broker peace. She explained that she had gone to great lengths in the past, including personal appeals, to encourage both parties to resolve their differences.
According to her, earlier reconciliation efforts had yielded positive results, with both actresses agreeing to keep disagreements off social media. However, tensions resurfaced late last year after concerns were raised about alleged interference affecting a film project, reigniting speculation and fan reactions online.
Ojo described the situation as regrettable, stressing that there is enough room in the industry for everyone to thrive. Despite this, she maintained that she could no longer continue mediating between the two actresses.
She also revisited her own history with Akindele, acknowledging a past public criticism she made in support of Abraham, which she now considers a mistake. She noted that she and Akindele later resolved their differences.
Addressing another issue, Ojo clarified that Abraham was initially part of her upcoming project, The Return of Arinzo, but had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts. She admitted the decision affected production plans but said both parties eventually settled the matter.
The filmmaker appealed to fans to respect her decision to step aside, adding that reconciliation would ultimately depend on the willingness of those involved.
The development comes shortly after the premiere of The Return of Arinzo held on March 29, 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre, where a viral video showing an awkward interaction between Akindele and Abraham sparked fresh debate online.
Since then, social media activity has further fueled speculation, with reports suggesting both actresses have unfollowed each other, intensifying discussions around the alleged rift.
