A sombre mood has engulfed Nyeri County following the brutal murder of a 20-year-old student from the Kenya Medical Training College. CCTV footage captured the final moments of Sheila Chebet, alias Shamlee, a first-year Mortuary Science student, revealing the last person seen with her, Vincent Bett, a Karatina University student, allegedly luring her to the location where her body was later found. She was discovered with her neck tied using her trousers and a belt.
The suspect has since been arraigned and is in police custody for 14 days as investigations continue. The family is now calling for justice.
