Popular US-based streamer Kai Cenat has paid a visit to the Makoko Children School Orphanage Home in Lagos, where he donated school supplies and spent time engaging with the children.
The 24-year-old content creator, who commands a massive global following online, participated in activities including dancing, painting, and games with the children, drawing smiles and excitement during the visit.
Cenat is currently in Nigeria for the second time and said his experience in Lagos continues to leave a strong impression on him. He described the city as welcoming and said the warmth he receives is a major reason he keeps returning.
“I feel very comfortable whenever I’m in Lagos. The love I get here is a big reason I keep coming back,” he said.
Reflecting on his previous visit two years ago, Cenat said the hospitality he experienced inspired him to encourage others abroad to visit Nigeria. He added that being back in the country holds deep personal meaning for him.
The streamer also expressed regret over missing Lagos’ festive season, noting that he hopes to better understand Nigerian culture during this visit. According to him, immersing himself in everyday experiences has been a key focus of his stay.
In 2024, Cenat initiated a school project in Makoko, donating $3,000 toward its development. His philanthropic efforts in the waterfront community include plans to build a school that will provide free education for local children.
During his visit, Cenat also met with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who commended him for using his influence to support social impact initiatives.
Cenat’s continued engagement in Makoko has drawn praise from residents and observers, highlighting how digital creators are increasingly leveraging their platforms for community development.
