A new political alignment may be taking shape within Kenya’s opposition, with DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala openly backing Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna for the presidency.
Malala claims DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua is also willing to support Sifuna, a position Gachagua has not publicly confirmed.
The development comes as Gachagua continues to position himself as the best-suited candidate to lead a united opposition against President William Ruto.
So, is Malala simply throwing his weight behind a rising political figure, or is he revealing the early contours of a possible Gachagua-Sifuna alliance?
