The family of Nigerian music icon 2Face Idibia has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), accusing his wife, Natasha Osawaru, of financial misconduct, assault, bigamy, threats to life, and substance abuse.
The petition, dated November 12, and shared online on Thursday, calls for a formal investigation into actions that allegedly caused financial loss, reputational damage, and emotional distress to the singer.
According to the document, reports received by 2Face’s family detail incidents of physical assault in both Abuja and the UK. Natasha is also accused of unauthorised transfers from the singer’s bank accounts, withholding his international passport and personal documents, and interfering with business commitments, resulting in potential embarrassment and financial setbacks.
“Substance abuse by Miss Natasha Osawaru allegedly resulted in violent behaviour, causing Mr. Innocent Ujah Idibia emotional distress and financial loss. His personal safety and mental wellbeing appear to be at risk,” the petition stated.
“Information suggesting a possible violation of marriage laws (bigamy) and fraudulent misrepresentation must be properly investigated.”
The allegations come amid reports that 2Face had not yet finalized divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia, before Natasha publicly presented herself as his new spouse.
The controversy intensified following a viral Instagram livestream with Daddy Freeze, where 2Face’s former managers accused Natasha of seeking full control over his finances and career. The session ended abruptly after a physical altercation between the singer and Natasha.
2Face’s younger brother, Hyacinth Idibia, later addressed him on Instagram, urging: “allow us to save you.”
In response to the unfolding events, the Edo State House of Assembly summoned Natasha Osawaru, a representative of the Egor constituency, to appear before its committee regarding her recent viral conduct.
The situation continues to draw national attention, highlighting tensions within the singer’s personal and professional life.
