Veteran Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has publicly stated that he no longer fathers children with multiple women, declaring a personal change after years of intense public attention on his private life.
The singer made the remark during the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends show held in Benin City, Edo State, where he addressed long-standing conversations surrounding his relationships and family history.
2Baba, who has seven children with five different women, said he has consciously altered his lifestyle and is now focused on personal development and his music career. He described the statement as a deliberate effort to “set the record straight.”
Speaking in Pidgin English, the music icon told the audience that he now makes the confession openly wherever he goes, insisting that the phase of his life associated with impregnating women outside marriage is over.
The declaration comes after years of public scrutiny, media debates, and recurring controversies surrounding the singer’s marriage and family life, which have often overshadowed discussions about his musical legacy.
2Baba has previously addressed marital issues publicly and issued apologies during past controversies, drawing mixed reactions from fans and the wider public. His latest statement appears to signal an attempt to move beyond those narratives and redefine his public image.
As of the time of reporting, the singer has not released an official statement beyond the remarks made at the event.
