Nigerian music legend 2Baba has dismissed the possibility of reuniting with his former group, Plantashun Boiz, stating clearly that he is no longer interested in revisiting that chapter of his career.
The award-winning artiste, born Innocent Ujah Idibia, made the remark during a recent radio interview with media personality Steve Onu. The interview forms part of activities marking his upcoming 25th anniversary in the music industry.
Addressing long-standing speculation about a potential reunion, 2Baba said while he harbours no ill feelings toward his former bandmates, he has personally moved on.
“Other members of the group can go ahead, but as for me, I’m not interested,” he said. “I have no beef with anyone, but as for me, it’s not going to happen.”
Plantashun Boiz, which also featured Blackface and Faze, rose to prominence in the early 2000s. The trio became one of the most influential groups of their era, delivering hit songs that helped shape Nigeria’s modern Afro-pop sound before eventually splitting.
Despite recurring calls from fans for a comeback, 2Baba’s latest comments suggest a reunion remains unlikely. The singer appears focused on his solo journey and legacy projects as he celebrates a remarkable 25 years on stage.
To mark the milestone, the veteran performer recently held a special anniversary concert, reinforcing his status as one of Nigeria’s most enduring and respected music icons.
