12 on Hillel Villa & Spa has denied any links between media personality Lerato Kganyago and the hotel, following allegations raised during the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The commission is investigating allegations of criminality, corruption, and political interference within the justice system.
During testimony this week, a witness identified 12 on Hillel Villa & Spa, a boutique hotel in Northcliff, as a venue for alleged illicit meetings. He told the inquiry that he had once been invited to a gathering organised by ‘Vusi Ndlala’ with his superiors at the hotel.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the hotel said it had no connection to the individuals mentioned during the commission’s proceedings and rejected reports suggesting Kganyago’s involvement.
“The hotel takes seriously all assertions that its premises have been used for unlawful or improper purposes.
“The hotel emphasises, however, that the owner of the property is not the so-called Vusi ‘Ndlala’, as has been widely reported in media accounts of the commission’s hearings,” the statement read.
12 on Hillel Villa & Spa further clarified that no party or event was held on the date cited in the reports.
“Our booking records and event log confirm that no function of that nature took place in the relevant time frame,” it added.
The hotel also rejected reports linking Kganyago to the property, stating she had no ownership, managerial, or operational role.
“We note with concern that media commentary has directed criticism towards Mrs Lerato Kganyago despite her having no association with the business operations,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Kganyago has publicly confirmed her ownership of the hotel on social media.
The hotel came into the spotlight in 2022 after Kganyago shared that her husband, Thami Ndlala, had gifted it to her as a Valentine’s gift.
In 2022, she released a statement confirming ownership after it was alleged that she had falsely claimed to own a hotel in Northcliff, Johannesburg.
